The order in which Ringba pings the ring tree targets in a ring tree depends on the campaign's routing plan setup. When you create a campaign, you configure the Call Routing section to specify how you want Ringba to route calls to this campaign. You can choose:
- Standard routing (aka Priority Routing) lets you set the priority and weight of the targets/groups your campaign routes calls to.
- Predictive Routing automatically routes your calls to your best-performing buyer by calculating an estimated revenue per call for each buyer. See Predictive Routing for more information.
- Call Flow routing consults the nodes you configured route calls. Part of configuring a call flow is setting a routing plan on the dial node, and that routing plan uses either standard or predictive routing, so Ringba's behavior matches that for standard or predictive routing.
If you set up your campaign to use real-time bidding (RTB), Ringba might follow different steps, depending on your Call Routing setting.
Note: Call flows are not compatible with RTB campaigns.
Standard Routing
On a campaign with standard routing, you set up priority and weight values for each target. Ringba treats an entire ring tree like a target. That means you assign a priority and weight to the whole ring tree, just like you do with a regular target.
So, if you have multiple ring tree targets inside a single ring tree, when the ring tree's turn comes, Ringba pings all of the targets at the same time. The highest bidder wins the call for that ring tree group. If no one wins, Ringba moves to the next target based on the priority and weight.
Predictive Routing
On a campaign with predictive routing, Ringba pings all ring tree targets on the campaign at the same time, regardless of whether they are inside one or multiple ring trees. Ringba then makes the calculations and routes the call based on the performance configured on the Predictive Routing settings.
RTB Campaign with Standard Routing
An RTB campaign with standard routing behaves different than a non-RTB campaign. When Ringba receives a ping from the publisher, it needs to calculate the reroute eligibility, so it pings all the RTTs on campaign. However, the system chooses the winning target to receive the call based on the priority settings set on the campaign, not based on bid value for ring tree targets separated into different ring trees.
RTB Campaign with Predictive Routing
If your RTB campaign uses predictive routing, Ringba follows the same behavior discussed in the Predictive Routing section above.
