Stir/shaken attestation is a technology standard developed by industry experts to combat the rise in fraudulent robocalls and illegal phone number spoofing.
It has a three-level system to categorize the essential information about the caller into levels of attestation for the call. The different levels describe the level of trust or proof a provider has in the caller’s right to use that particular number, with attestation levels ranging from A to C.
- A - Full Attestation: Indicates that the provider recognizes the entire phone number as being registered with the originating subscriber.
- B - Partial Attestation: Indicates that the call originated with a known customer but the entire number cannot be verified.
- C - Gateway Attestation: Indicates that the call can only be verified as coming from a known gateway.
You can configure the default level of stir/shaken attestation you require for calls to your account in your Account Settings. You can also override the default settings for each campaign.
