Stir/shaken attestation is a technology standard developed by industry experts to combat the rise in fraudulent robocalls and illegal phone number spoofing.
It has a three-level system to categorize the essential information about the caller into levels of attestation for the call. The different levels describe the level of trust or proof a provider has in the caller’s right to use that particular number, with attestation levels ranging from A to C.
- A - Full Attestation: Indicates that the provider recognizes the entire phone number as being registered with the originating subscriber.
- B - Partial Attestation: Indicates that the call originated with a known customer but the entire number cannot be verified.
- C - Gateway Attestation: Indicates that the call can only be verified as coming from a known gateway.
You can configure the default level of stir/shaken attestation you require for calls to your account in your Account Settings.
You can also override the default settings for each campaign by using the selector in the General Info section of the Campaigns screen.
If a call violates your stir/shaken attestation configurations, Ringba blocks the call. The blocked call is reflected in the Blocked column on the Summary report. You use the Tags - Call Info - Blocked Reason filter to find calls on the Reporting screen that were blocked for this reason.
