TCPA Shield is a feature in Ringba to check phone numbers against a list of known litigators and settlement seekers. You can use TCPA Shield in three ways:
- Enable TCPA Shield in your Ringba campaigns to block incoming calls from unwanted numbers
- Upload a file of numbers to check each one and scrub offending numbers from the file
- Use the TCPA Shield API to integrate real-time number checks into any of your business systems

TCPA Shield is available to admin users. It is included in all Ringba subscription plans, Business, Professional and Enterprise, but you must request it be enabled in your account. Contact your Account Manager to enable TCPA Shield.

TCPA Shield Bulk Number Check
The TCPA Shield bulk number check is a feature available in your Ringba account. Using this feature, you can upload a list of phone number to remove any numbers that are known to belong to litigators. This feature helps you scrub your lead lists.
You start the bulk number check on the TCPA Shield > Process File screen.
This screen shows:
- Requests Remaining for Billing Period: How many TCPA Shield checks included in your current billing period that remain. Your subscription includes a number of checks per billing period and this number decreases as you use them. Once the included requests are used up, you can continue to check numbers in TCPA Shield by paying the per-request fee.
- Overage Per Transcription Charge: The per-request charge once your included TCPA Shield requests of the billing period are used up.
- Choose File To Process: Click the upload icon to select the file of numbers you want to TCPA Shield to check.
The file you upload must be in CSV or TXT format. Separate numbers with a comma or with a line return.
Once you click Process File, Ringba uploads the file and begins checking the numbers. When it finds the number of a known litigator, it deletes the number and replaces it with the word "blocked."
When Ringba is done checking all the numbers it the file, a result file downloads automatically. It appears in your browser's downloads folder.
How to Upload a File for Bulk Scrubbing
Use the following steps to upload a file of numbers to check in TCPA Shield:
- Navigate to TCPA Shield > Process File.
- Upload a CSV or TXT file with numbers you want to check.
- Once you process a file, a result file downloads to your browser's downloads folder automatically.

What can I do if my file is extremely large?
If your numbers file is so large it's not convenient to upload through the Ringba screen, contact our Support Team. We'll be happy to assist you.
