Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a tool to protect your Ringba account from theft or hacking of your users' passwords. When you turn on MFA, a person cannot log into that account until they enter a code from an authentication app in addition to entering the password.
You should use multi-factor authentication as one of the security measures to protect your users from unauthorized access. If a hacker gains access to your account, they can cost you money, and Ringba cannot be responsible for your losses.
How to Enable Multi-factor authentication
Note: Each user in your account must complete these steps individually. Setting up MFA for only one user does not require it for your other users. Please reinforce the importance of this procedure to your admins, publishers, and buyers.
Prerequisite: You must have an authenticator app in order to complete these steps. You can find a variety of such apps for your device, including Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and 2FAS. You can choose to install any authenticator app for this procedure.
Use the following steps to require MFA for your user:
- From inside Ringba, select Security > Multi-Factor Auth in the left navigation panel.
- Click the Add MFA Method button.
- Select Authenticator app from the drop-down list that appears.
- Open the authenticator app on your device and scan the QR code that appears using the device's camera. If you cannot use the QR code, you can copy the information the authenticator app needs by clicking the click here to copy link.
- Once your authenticator app is set up, enter the 6-digit code from the app into the Validation Code field and click Enable.
From now on when you log in, Ringba will prompt you to enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
