Number porting is the process of transferring an existing phone number into or away from your Ringba account.
Port a Phone Number into Ringba
Porting a number to Ringba lets you to transfer a number you're already using with another provider into your Ringba account.
You must complete some paperwork as part of this process. The exact forms you use depend on the provider currently holding the number you want to port. The process goes like this:
- You create a ticket with Ringba Support to start the process. This ticket contains all your communication with Ringba about porting your number, including any data requests we have for you as well as updates and notifications.
- We provide a letter of agency (LOA) form (link below) and a list of requirements for you to complete.
- As soon as we receive the completed forms from you, we submit them to the provider for review.
- If anything is incomplete or incorrect, we communicate with you to get updates and submit them to the provider.
Note: Once all the paperwork is correct, the port should be approved within 24 to 72 hours. - Your current provider gives Ringba the date the number is scheduled to be ported, and Ringba adds the number to your account one day before that date.
Note: If you want to change when the number is ported, you must contact Ringba at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled porting date. - You can set up the number, campaign, publisher, or any other parts of your account during that day so your account is ready to accepting your calls when the porting is complete the next day.
- At the scheduled time, caller who dial your number begin to connect with Ringba.
The following list explains the typical documents providers ask for as part of this process. Remember, the exact list can vary depending on the country and provider.
- Letter of Agency (LOA): A Letter of Agency must be completed, signed, and scanned.
- Phone numbers: A list of the numbers you want to port.
- Phone number PINs/Passwords: If the numbers have a PIN/passcode, provide them with your materials. Note: You should verify whether the number has a PIN/passcode with your current provider.
- Phone bill: A scanned / electronic copy of your most recent phone bill (no older than 3 months) that includes your account and address information for all the number you are porting.
- Customer Service Record (CSR): A Customer Service Record is a copy of how your telephone records appear in the provider's database and includes the service address for the account.

Please note that the address listed on the letter of authorization must match the address listed on the Customer Service Record and phone bill for the port to be approved. This is a security requirement to prevent bad actors from stealing your phone numbers. This information comes from you and the provider who currently holds the number. Due to issues outside our control, any incorrect information can delay the process.
Once the porting process is complete, your number becomes a Ringba tracking number that you can use in your account.
