When you want to use the ZIP Code of the caller for routing purposes, Ringba offers several options for collecting the caller's ZIP Code value:
- Using Ringba's Instant Caller Profile
- Using a "Gather" Node with IVR routing
- Using Ringba's Number Pool Technology
- Using Inbound Data Enrichment (IDE)
The following sections describe each of these methods.
Using Ringba's Instant Caller Profile
Instant Caller Profile (ICP) is Ringba's proprietary data enrichment solution. It pulls a variety of data from a repository of caller information that is broad, consistently updated, and easy to use.
Note: Using ICP incurs an extra cost. Contact your account manager for more info.
ICP enriches the call with data based on the caller ID. If the caller's ZIP Code is available, Ringba adds it to the call in the following tag:
Caller Profile - Address - Zip 5
You can use this tag with a tag routing filters to route calls based on ZIP Code value.
Note: ICP must be enabled in your account. Contact your Ringba account manager to request it. For more information about this feature, see Instant Caller Profile with Ringba.
Using a Gather Node with Call Flows
You can ask callers to enter their own ZIP Code using a Gather node in your call flow. This is the only method in which the caller interacts with the system and enters the ZIP Code themselves.
The name of the tag that contains the ZIP Code value varies depending on the name you choose when setting it the Gather node. In the following example, the tag name is the following:
Gather - Zipcode
You can use the value in a tag routing filter. The tag name is as follows:
Ivr - Gather - Zipcode
The following image shows an example of a call flow with a gather node and a dial node. This flow represents a case where the caller enters the ZIP Code and, if successful, the call flow dials the routing plan with the targets.

Using Ringba's Number Pool Technology
Number pools let you pass information from your landing page into Ringba to enrich your calls.
Note: There is no extra cost for this feature; you simply pay for the numbers in your pool, just like any other number.
The number pool return's the landing page visitor's public IP information, which Ringba uses to locate the impression and give you a ZIP Code based on this geo location. Of the options, this is the least accurate since it relies on external variables.
If you want to use it as a tag routing filter the name of the tag is as follows:
Js Tag- Geo- Zip Code

Using Inbound Data Enrichment (IDE)
Inbound data enrichment (IDE) lets your publishers and lead-generation partners send you information about a caller before the call arrives. Ringba captures the information and adds it to the call as tags.
Note: There is no additional cost for using this feature.
Your publisher must send a web request with a parameter containing the ZIP Code. The value appears as an user tag in your reporting.
You can use this tag in tag routing filters. The name of the tag varies depending on how the publisher sends it. We recommend that you instruct your publisher to use the following tag name for consistency:
zipcode
