Methods for Using TCPA Shield for Ringba
TCPA Shield for Ringba offers three different methods for protecting yourself from professional litigators across your calling tools. You can use TCPA Shield both inside and outside Ringba:
- Enable it to block calls using settings in your account and campaigns
- Upload files of numbers for bulk scrubbing
- Use the API to integrate TCPA Shield with your other system and block calls from bad numbers in real time
Enable TCPA Shield in Your Account or on Your Ringba Campaigns
Protect your pay-per-call campaigns by automatically blocking calls from known TCPA plaintiffs, litigants, and settlement seekers.

If you enable TCPA shield for your account, Ringba uses it to block calls from TCPA plaintiffs across all the campaigns in your account, unless you override it at the campaign level.
Use these steps to enable TCPA Shield for your account in your account settings:
- Navigate to Settings > Account Settings.
- Toggle on the TCPA Shield switch.
- If you want Ringba to play a message to the blocked caller before disconnecting, toggle on the Play TCPA Warning on Blocked Call switch. The message is "This call has been blocked."
To enable TCPA Shield for a Ringba campaign:
- Navigate to Campaigns and open the campaign where you want to enable TCPA Shield.

Scroll down to the TCPA Shield section.
Note: On the Account Settings screen, you set default values for whether to enable TCPA Shield and whether to play the TCPA warning to blocked callers. Your settings from that screen appear as default option on these fields. - Select Enabled on the TCPA Shield selector.

Select an option on the Play TCPA Warning on Blocked Call selector:
- Enabled: The caller hears "This call has been blocked" before the call disconnects.
- Disabled: Ringba rejects the call without playing a message to the caller.
If TCPA Shield blocks an incoming call, it increments the value in the Blocked column on the Summary report. You can use the Tags - Call Info - Blocked Reason filter on the Reporting screen to see only calls blocked by TCPA shield.
Upload Files for Bulk Scrubbing
Manually scrub your phone numbers and lead lists against TCPA Shield.
To upload a file for bulk scrubbing:
- Go to TCPA Shield > Process File.
- Upload a CSV or TXT file with numbers you want to check.
- Once you process a file, a result file will be automatically downloaded, in this file you will get the list of numbers that you processed but for the ones that were blocked the rows will be replaced by the word "blocked" instead of having the number.
