Ringba's white label feature includes the ability to create a custom domain. A custom domain provides a dedicated domain name for your clients to access your account under your own brand. With a custom domain, publishers and buyers can log in to your portal from a custom URL.
Note: This process requires substantial technical effort. For a simpler way to customize your login URL, see White Label Friendly URL.
Prerequisites
To configure a custom domain, you must have already secured the domain or subdomain you want to use and have access to its CNAME records. See your domain provider's documentation for instructions on how to secure a domain and access the CNAME records.
How to Set up a Custom Domain
The process to set up a custom domain includes many steps. Some you complete in Ringba, others you complete in your DNS provider's interface, and some Ringba completes automatically. Throughout the configuration process, you will receive status updates via in-app messages and email notifications.
Use the following steps:
- Navigate to Settings> White Label Settings. Click CNAME Setup to expand the panel with the tools you need.
- Submit your CNAME.
Enter your CNAME under the CNAME Setup heading and click Save. The following example uses the CNAME ringbawlexample.tk. - Review and verify.
Ringba automatically reviews your request and verifies your ownership of the domain. - Enter your CNAME again in the confirmation window and click Submit.
The system sends you an email with the subject Ringba Alert - White label CNAME request: Domain validation required. - Open the email to find important information you'll need.
- Go to your DNS provider panel and set the host/name pointing to the target/value.
The following example uses a generic DNS provider panel to show you how to set the host and the target.
Note: The image shows the DNS section of a DNS provider, and it is for illustration purposes only. Your screen may look different depending on your DNS provider. - Add a record in your DNS configuration.
- Set the type as CNAME.
Note: The email message you received earlier contains two sets of host/name and target/value pairs. This is an extra security measure added because some DNS providers automatically add your domain at the end of the Name field. In that case, you should follow steps 8 to 12 for each of the two sets of values. However, if your provider does not allow you to add the two records, you should follow the steps for only one of the pairs.
- In the Name field, add the value of the host/name.
Depending on your DNS provider, this field can have other names like Host, for example. In our example, the email shows that the value is _867ecb21ed3cab9a22ea98fa32ece565.myportal.ringbawlexample.tk. - In the Target field, add the target/value. Depending on your DNS provider, this field can have other names like Domain or Value, for example. This value is also provided in the email you received earlier. In this example, the value is _db0beb1237d0b8945f0e9dc4b8843447.vhzmpjdqfx.acm-validations.aws.
- Make sure the proxy status is set to DNS only and not Proxied. Now, you can save the record.
- In Ringba, after some time, the second step icon in the CNAME Setup section turns green. This means that the verification was successful. You also receive an email confirming the success.
- Provision HTTPS Certificate.
The next step, Provision HTTPS Certificate, is automatic. You do not need to do anything at this point. When the step is completed the third step turns green. - Ringba sends you another email, this time asking you to set another host/name and target/value.
- Finally, you need to add another record with the new values shown in the email, following steps 8 to 12. Do not delete the previously added records.
- Check your custom domain. After a few minutes, your white-labeled sign-in screen is ready to go.
